On 5 Feb 2025, over 100 participants gathered at The Foundry for Better.sg's first Pitch & Demo Night of the year, supported by Bettr Group. At the corner of Prinsep Link, project teams pitched their #techforgood ideas, seeking support and collaboration from the Better.sg community.
The event featured 5 demos from existing Better.sg projects: Checkmate, RUOK, FluentHands, Edukit, and Schemes.sg. Participants roved between booths, engaging directly with project teams to see their latest updates in action, provide feedback, and explore collaboration opportunities. These live demonstrations allowed attendees to test prototypes, ask questions, and understand the real-world impact of these tools—whether it was an AI-powered fact-checking tool, an interactive sign language learning platform, or a tutor-matching system for underserved students.
Beyond the demos, 7 new pitches were presented, introducing fresh ideas ranging from an AI-driven food redistribution platform to a community-led initiative for tracking public toilet cleanliness. These pitches sparked lively discussions, with audience members offering insights, connections, and even signing up to contribute.
As the night wrapped up, many stayed behind to continue conversations and exchange ideas. The projects and organising team closed the evening with a boisterous lo hei to welcome the new year!
