Programme Overview
The Better.sg Volunteer Tech Officer (VTO) programme deploys skilled tech volunteers to optimise organisational processes for non-profit organisations, enabling their teams to focus on impact.
Tech support is offered across five focus areas: digital strategy (updating legacy systems or building integrated software solutions), data analytics and dashboards (leveraging metrics and data), volunteer management systems (improving communication and coordination), digital automation (streamlining operations), and website design (refreshing organisational websites).
VTO volunteers work directly alongside NGO staff to understand their challenges, identify opportunities for digital transformation, and build or deploy technology solutions tailored to the organisation's needs — creating meaningful, sustained volunteering relationships that deliver lasting change for Singapore's social sector.

How a VTO project works

Project Scoping
We work with your organisation to define the project scope, requirements, and success criteria.

Volunteer Recruitment
Recruitment is open for up to 1 month. A minimum of 2 volunteers must sign up before the project proceeds.

MOU Signing & Kickoff
Formalise the engagement with an MOU, then kick off with the first team meeting.

Project in Progress
Volunteers build your solution, with at least one Better.sg check-in per month.

Completion
Project is handed over with full documentation. We celebrate and appreciate the team's contributions.

Programme Overview
BEACON is Better.sg's annual flagship conference, created to bring together changemakers across tech, government, and social impact organisations to explore innovation and purpose for social good.
The inaugural edition launched in 2023 with leaders from organisations like Carousell, Homage, and GIVE.Asia. The 2024 edition attracted over 270 participants including technologists, policymakers, and community leaders. The 2025 edition continued to strengthen Singapore's digital-social innovation ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration.
BEACON 2025 was held on 1 November 2025, and BEACON 2024 was held on 23 November 2024.

Programme Overview
The Better.sg AI/ML Mentorship Programme is designed to cultivate both professional and personal growth by creating a vibrant environment for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and support.
The programme connects aspiring individuals — students and young professionals — with experienced tech and AI mentors who offer guidance on AI/ML topics and demonstrate real-world applications across industries. It's a mutually beneficial relationship: mentors gain a platform to share their expertise and current projects while contributing to the next generation of talent.
Across ten curated sessions, mentees gain hands-on experience, sharpen their critical thinking, and develop projects that address real-world problems. The programme culminates in a closing ceremony featuring keynote speakers and panel discussions with industry leaders.
The 2nd Edition wrapped in January 2026, featuring 100+ mentors and mentees and a closing event supported by Meta Singapore. The programme is organised by Giuseppe Enriquez and Madeleine Koh.
