Presence

A check-in system for people who live alone — Presence, not silence.

About this project

Overview

Presence is a well-being monitoring app designed as a check-in system for people who live alone. It runs quietly in the background, learning the user's daily phone rhythms — unlock frequency, screen time, and charging patterns — so no manual daily check-in is ever needed. For users and their loved ones alike, it offers a quiet reassurance: presence, not silence.

How It Works

If around 12 hours pass without normal activity signals, Presence sends a gentle check-in notification. If the user doesn't respond, their designated trusted contacts are alerted via push notification, with SMS and email as backup channels — so someone always knows when something might be wrong.

Privacy First

All behavioural data stays on-device. Presence only monitors activity signals — never message content, calls, camera, microphone, or location. Raw activity events auto-delete after 90 days, and all infrastructure is hosted in Singapore.

Availability

Presence is live and free to download on the App Store and Google Play. Learn more at presence-sg.com.
