Are You OK? is a mental wellness chatbot developed to support caregivers who are on the front lines of emotional support. Whether it's a friend offering a shoulder to lean on or a family member providing comfort, many of us have found ourselves in conversations with someone in distress, unsure of what to say or how to help. Are You OK? aims to bridge that gap by offering tailored strategies and responses that assist caregivers in making those interactions more effective and comforting. With professional collaboration, we’re working to deliver responses that don’t just provide space for venting but offer genuine insights and understanding to help move conversations forward in a positive direction.
The Are You OK? chatbot is being developed as a tool to equip caregivers with actionable strategies for engaging with someone in distress. Drawing from real-life conversations and professional input, the bot will generate helpful responses designed to enhance the caregiver's ability to offer meaningful support. By analyzing conversations and gathering data, we train the chatbot to respond in a way that’s both empathetic and effective. The goal is to make the support process easier and more efficient for caregivers, scaling the impact of professional mental health guidance across a wide range of situations.
So far, we’ve focused on gathering data—real conversations between individuals and those they are supporting in times of emotional distress. We are now working closely with mental health professionals to classify these conversations and build out a robust database of strategies that can be used to train the chatbot. As we continue to develop Are You OK?, our goal is to provide caregivers with the confidence and tools to engage in difficult conversations, making the process of supporting others less overwhelming. The platform is still in development, but we’re making great strides and are excited to bring the final product to life soon
